MATIC DAPP SPOTLIGHT WITH UBONG EPHRAIM - SAPIEN

Hello guys, Ubong Ephraim here and welcome to another episode of Matic DApp spotlight with Ubong Ephraim. On this series I highlight DAPPS implemented on the Matic Network. DAPPS which choose Matic Network to enable them scale and also provide faster transactions for their users.

And today we’ll be talking about Sapien, the social platform built for user privacy and customizability. Before getting into Sapien, I would begin by giving a brief overview of Matic Network.

MATIC NETWORK
Matic network is a blockchain solution that provides scalable, secure and instant Ethereum transactions using Plasma side chains and a Proof-of-Stake network. Matic Network was created to solve the problem of scalability associated with most blockchains and also accelerate transaction speeds.

Sapien entered a partnership with Matic Network to make exchanging tokens and rewards completely free to the user by leveraging on the layer 2 solution of Matic Network. According to Bhatia CEO of Sapien, he said Sapien aims to use Matic’s network technology to build a scalable decentralized Web 3 social network.

In his words : “We’re using Matic sidechains — they’re a plasma-based proof-of-stake (PoS) chain — to basically power our charging and internal promotions on the platform. So, it will be used instead of the mainnet to send transactions, to send tips, to promote high quality posts and comments.” Matic is providing the high-throughput infrastructure for users to send payments & tips.
